In addition, the registration certificate taxes (regional tax, vocational training tax, management tax and delivery fee) are due to the French State and passed on at cost, depending on the vehicle and the holder’s region. Service fees are subject to 20% VAT. Prices valid from 1 August 2026.
Why service fees?
Since 1 August 2026, access to the French registration system has been strictly regulated to fight fraud. These fees cover:
- Legally valid archiving
Each file is kept for 5 years in a compliant digital vault (NF Z42-020 standard).
- Secure digital identity
Each procedure is sent with a qualified electronic certificate.
- Stronger controls
Prefectural agreement and controls: each file is complete, time-stamped and traceable.
- Full handling
Checking the documents, building the file and following it up until the certificate is issued.
